Another Banksy in a week?

This week, The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool has unveiled a new addition to its collection … A Banksy.  After the recent discovery of a Banksy painting on the wall of a Liverpool pub, the city has managed to acquire two Banskys in a week!  The new work shows an 18th century statue (replica) of a priest with its face sawn off and replaced with bathroom tiles (see picture here).  The finished artwork appears as a ‘pixilated’ portrait entitled Cardinal Sin and is thought to be a comment on the abuse scandal in the Church.  The statue which is an indefinite loan from the artist will be displayed in one of the Walker’s 17th-century Old Master galleries, alongside religious sculpture.
