The Tate Modern has launched a free and innovative app, Race Against Time, that combines gaming with art history. The game features a beret wearing chameleon, whoÂ travels through the history of modern art in order to defeat the evil Dr Greyscaleâ€™s plan to remove all the colour from the world. The game consists of multiple levels which reflect the major art movements through time, from 1890 to the present day. The game is bright, witty and has its own catchy soundtrack.
The Tate has also re-released their award-winning game Tate Trumps. A card game that brings the Tateâ€™s collection to life. The game involves choosing a mode: Battle, Mood or Collector. Battle involves sparring with friends using paintings as weapons, whilst Mood isÂ more relaxed as one nominates paintings for particular moods. Lastly, Collector lets you create your ultimate art collection.
