Save Cork Street

Posted on: March 28th, 2013

The fight to save Cork Street from a development that has already forced a number of existing galleries to sign over their rights to the developers has reached a crucial stage.
According to the latest update from the Save Cork Street Campaign there are currently three galleries left in the fight. The fear is that this area will soon simply become an expensive residential estate, rather than the heart of our world renowned Fine Art Market.
According to the Antiques Trade Gazette the latest TEFAF report shows that the UK Art Market in 2012 was worth Euros 10.1bn or 23% of the global market.
We have supported the campaign to maintain the character of this important area of London, but if you too feel that you would like to lend your support, please visit the campaign site at www.savecorkstreet.com and sign their petition.
